#35 PICTURES AND A FIVE MONTH RECAP OF TIME, MONEY, AND TIME

WHAZAMMO AND THE GILLIG #35  (Click the "MORE POSTS" link at the bottom to find Post #1)

FINALLY THE ELECTRIC BOX IS MOUNTED !

We survived five months of trial by GILLIG, the next thirty days are highly intense as we try to do 45-50 days worth of work compressed into a small time frame for leaving Florence before the Labor Day week-end.

We have five or so "destinations" lined up on the watch list, spanning Ohio, Idaho, West Virginia, and Oregon -only- affordable space for us is available, and will only cost right at double the per month cost of the boat berthing ... (typically, most RV spaces are triple the cost).

150 DAY TOTALS:

"Actual" MONEY-OUT-OF-POCKET  total  TO DATE: $ 6,280.00-$7,800.00  remember, the ancillary support expenses TITLE-LICENSE-INSURANCE-TRAVEL-FUEL- (not including the purchase price of the bus, or any construction materials, ment there was a $ 900.00 chunk of change spent on B.S.)... in actuality that should finish the materiel expenses almost completely... everything is now aboard, and all the materials to finish are there, we simply are down to labor time to complete.

The redo of the aft entry door, and the close-off of the right front passenger door-set and window install is the very last expense item to come...

Making the actual on-board bus parts expenditures now at $5,450.00 - $5,700.00 this does not include unaccounted-for expenses like lunches, generator fuel, storage lot fees, and petty cash purchases ... guesstimate ?  another $250.00.00 ?

SO, at the outside,  $6,100.00 in 150 days, and lots of our "free" labor, our time invested, (to date approx.) is at 800-990 man hours invested (even at $50.00/HR = $49,500 valuation).

Remember we were at 300 labor hours invested way back in March, we estimated still needing another 800-1,200 hours of labor to completion... or around 1,500 hours for the entire build, as of 15 July, my notes are telling me we "will" be out of Florence barely functional for living, with a "LOT" of interior finishing to do... because of the constant amount of changes and redo's, this project simply is $ 1,500.00 off budget, and, truly 30 days behind schedule !

Big month expense wise, around $3,000.00      1/2 of which went to the new combo clothes washer and 30-gallon hot water heater, another 500 went into lumber, and, the thousand dollar balance was spent on lunches, tool replacement-add on, tire covers, the 42" x 42" passenger window for the right front mods, a ladder, seating, and catch up of loose ends aplenty.

Once done (September first?) we will have spent a hair under $10,000.00 (plus the cost of the coach) to build the completed GILLIG, by the time this is done ... at 50 bucks an hour the labor cost will be around $55,000.00  (@ $50/HR ...   most shops are at $80-$120 dollars an hour billable).

THE COUNTERTOPPING BEGINS

STOVE-REEFER SIDE

EVERYTHING MOVED AFT FOR THE GALLEY WORK

an'ya just could not help herself, some suiseki "had" to happen.

The rough-in of galley cabs and countertop underlayment, the actual hardwood top layer is yet to be added, the shower wall enclosure has to be secured first, but the process ties together as all one piece.

There are a lot more (later) pictures stuck in my broken iPhone (don't ask !), that I will post later on this page...
